Ayurveda is rooted in the balance of the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and ether). These creation elements are manifested as three energy forces, the doshas: vata, pitta, and kapha. When balanced, the doshas are the primary driving forces of health and well-being.
This seven-week workshop explores the elemental properties of the doshas to experience yoga practices and breathwork that showcase dosha attributes. Weekly sessions include discussion followed by practice. Students will gain understanding of ayurveda and a new perspective on self-care using simple, practical tools to restore inner harmony.
About the doshas:
Everyone has all three doshas within them to varying degrees, and they are always in a state of change. Fall is a time of transition, and the changing seasons can cause dosha imbalance.
