Brain-derived neutrophic factor (BDNF) is a gene that is involved in the making of the protein to support this process and depleted levels are seen in conditions such as Alzheimer’s and depression.       <image:caption>Yoga, translated as “oneness” or “union” reminds us that we are a complex being and there are many components to our wellbeing- physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, etc.! All of these intricacies makes us who we are. And sometimes, with all the outside thoughts, energies, and beliefs we get tied up in what’s not ours, bringing about a sense of dis-ease (or imbalance) in one or more of these areas. The practices of yoga can give you the tools to go deep within to remove stagnant energies and blockages to reconnect back to balance. And food. Well, food is LIFE. Food is something we are linked with each and every day. And we can utilize it as a tool, with our yoga practices to support healing and restoring balance from deep within. Eating a well-balanced, wholesome diet not only keeps us physically and mentally strong, it nourishes even in the subtlest areas as we work with our whole-being. Food comes from the earth and is one of the ways in which we can take our own power back where we can control nourishing our system. Conversely, we use yoga practices to build compassion and self-confidence as we navigate a complex, beautiful system. I’m here to remind you, there is nothing to fix about you. Our time together will work to remove the layers that have clouded your ability to be present and know true Self.
